Logo history

The Facides Dione Logo!

FaDi – and before that, Saartje – has had several logos over the years. Not just pictures, but powerful symbols that reflect our identity, growth, and unity. After all, a logo is much more than an image: it’s the visual anchor of an organization, instantly showing who we are and what we stand for. It’s an essential part of our branding and outward appearance.

Over the years, the FaDi logo has grown along with us. From the earliest designs to today’s professional look – every logo tells a part of our story. And for special milestones, such as a lustrum, a unique logo is created to celebrate the occasion in style.

Below you’ll find a visual overview of our logo’s evolution – a colorful journey through time. 💚💛

Logo Saartje

1. Before the founding of Facides Dione, another study association already existed: Saartje. For the full background story, click here. Saartje was named after a housekeeper, and the logo matched that theme perfectly.

Logo 2004

2. In 2004, Facides Dione was officially founded. The iconic idea of the spiderweb quickly emerged – although the design tools were still quite limited. The logo was pixelated and less refined, but it formed a solid base for the years to come.

Logo 2007

3. In 2007, the logo received a major makeover. The now-familiar FaDi colors green and yellow were introduced, and the spider became a striking centerpiece. This logo gave FaDi a fresh and recognizable identity.

Lustrum 5

4. During the first lustrum – FaDi’s fifth anniversary – the logo was festively adapted. The familiar ‘F’ in the center of the spider was temporarily replaced with a ‘5’ to emphasize the milestone.

Sharp logo

5. With the arrival of better computers and design software, it was time for a visual upgrade. The logo became sharper, sleeker, and more professional – perfectly matching the association’s growth.

Lustrum 2

6. The second lustrum also deserved a unique logo. The spider, the green, and the yellow were of course still there, now combined in a stylish design that matched the theme of that year.

Current logo

7. After the second lustrum, the regular logo received another small transformation. It became the current, recognizable logo: a circular design featuring a yellow spider and a green web. Naturally, the trusted ‘F’ stood proudly in the spider’s center again.

Lustrum 3

8. For the third lustrum, a brand-new anniversary logo was once again created. The current logo was creatively incorporated, along with the theme: "North, east, south, west – guiding the way across land, sea and sky. Fifteen years ago, a rare crystal vanished somewhere in the far north. But where is it now? North, east, south, west? Join us on this journey and celebrate the crystal lustrum with FaDi."

Lustrum 4

9. The most recent logo was created for the fourth lustrum in 2025. Once again, a spider featured prominently – but this time with a fresh take: instead of an upright spider, a more dynamic design was chosen. The theme “Rewind” was central, reflected in the addition of a clock and stylish spiderwebs on either side.
